The Practice
Behind the Name
Lexvault has been helping Malaysian businesses and individuals address their legal needs thoughtfully since 2011.

Founded on Clarity, Built for Practice
Lexvault was established in Kuala Lumpur in 2011 by a small group of practitioners who had observed a recurring problem: clients frequently came to legal matters late, either because they found the law confusing or because early advice had not been framed in a way they could act on.
The practice was built around a single principle — that legal counsel should be accessible and legible. This does not mean oversimplifying complex matters, but rather presenting them in a manner that respects a client's time and intelligence. Our team invests in understanding each client's circumstances before recommending a course of action.
Over fifteen years, Lexvault has developed particular depth in three areas that matter most to Malaysian businesses today: intellectual property protection through MyIPO, employment law compliance under the Employment Act and Industrial Relations Act, and regulatory adherence under the Companies Act, PDPA, and industry-specific frameworks.
We remain a deliberate, relationship-focused practice. We are not structured for volume; we are structured for quality. Every client engagement involves direct, substantive communication from qualified practitioners — not junior staff or form letters.
Mission
To make competent Malaysian legal advice accessible to those who need it — communicated clearly, priced transparently, and delivered with genuine attention to each client's situation.
Vision
A business landscape in Malaysia where companies of all sizes engage with legal requirements proactively and confidently, rather than reactively and with anxiety.
Core Values
- Honesty in every client communication
- Thoroughness without unnecessary complexity
- Respect for client time and resources

Client Confidentiality
All client communications and documents are treated with strict confidentiality, in keeping with the Legal Profession Act 1976 and our own internal data handling protocols.
Written Scope & Fees
Before any work begins, the scope of engagement and applicable fees are set out in writing. No additional work is undertaken without prior agreement.
Data Protection Compliance
Client personal data is handled in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. We collect only what is necessary and retain information for no longer than required.
Regular Practice Review
Our internal processes and knowledge base are reviewed regularly to reflect legislative updates, MyIPO procedural changes, and judicial developments in Malaysia.
Malaysian Bar Membership
Our practitioners hold current membership with the Malaysian Bar and adhere to the Bar Council's professional conduct rules and ethical guidelines at all times.
Legal Knowledge Grounded in Malaysian Practice
Malaysian law operates within a distinct framework — one shaped by the Federal Constitution, common law inheritance, and a growing body of statutory regulation that continues to evolve. At Lexvault, our work is grounded in this specific context. We do not apply generic legal principles and hope they translate; we work from the ground up within the laws and regulations that actually govern businesses and individuals in Malaysia.
Intellectual property protection in Malaysia is administered through MyIPO and governed principally by the Trade Marks Act 2019, the Patents Act 1983, and the Copyright Act 1987. Each registration pathway carries its own requirements, timelines, and potential complications. Our practitioners have navigated these pathways across a range of industries — from technology and manufacturing to food production and the arts.
Employment law in Malaysia changed materially following the Employment (Amendment) Act 2022, which extended the scope of the Employment Act 1955 to cover all employees regardless of salary. Keeping employment contracts, workplace policies, and termination procedures current with these changes is a practical necessity for any Malaysian employer. Our advisory service helps businesses and individuals understand their position and act accordingly.
Regulatory compliance is often approached reactively — businesses address it only when an issue arises. We encourage a different approach: a structured, periodic review that identifies gaps before they become problems. Our compliance audit service was designed for this purpose, drawing on our knowledge of the PDPA, Companies Act 2016, and various sector-specific frameworks.
